Tips and Tricks of Social Media
We all love learning tips and tricks.
I mean how many times have you searched Pinterest or google for tips and tricks on a specific topic? RIGHT!
We all love learning new things but when it is time to start reviewing tips and tricks quickly is super helpful. So today I want to share some basic social media tips and tricks that I have learned along the way.
SOCIAL MEDIA TIPS AND TRICKS-
You have to show up consistently:
Now this is one that can create true anxiety if you think that consistently means everyday multiple times a day. Consistently looks different for everyone. As your life and seasons of your business change your consistent schedule for posting will be different. You have to show up in a way that works best for you. Don’t let anyone say you HAVE TO SHOW UP _____ number of times. You do what works for you, your business and your target audience.
You have to create a recognizable brand
Creating a brand that is easy to recognize is huge for your business. That can be in the design of your graphics, the colors you use, the content you put out. Make it represent you. This helps your audience easily determine what is your content when they see it on their newsfeed.
Get ahead by scheduling content
Can I get an AMEN on the freak out some of us felt on the social media blackout?
Well this could have created a whole string of issues if content wasn’t already scheduled. Get as far ahead as you can with your content so that you can make sure when life or craziness happens you are not worried about whether your content is going out. Business suite/creator studio are a great free resource that Facebook offers and it schedules Instagram as well.
Sometimes it is beneficial to just post spontaneously
IG does well with spotnatity so you can post things as they come up or as you have something to share but your schedule should be your guideline and way to stay relevant. You may ditch the scheduled content one day if you see or feel the need to show up with something real and relevant.
Find relevant and top ranking hashtags
Hashtags is a new topic of conversation as many say that you need to only use 5-9 instead of 30. This is again one of those rules that you have to determine based on what fits your community, your business and your life. You need to ensure that you are using top trending hashtags and that you are engaging with them as well. ENGAGEMENT is a HUGE part of the strategy you need to ensure you are using everytime you are on your social media page.
Foster community
Social media was created with community in mind. The goal is to create community among your followers. People buy from people. They want to know you and build a relationship with you. This then allows them to trust you and desire to work with you or purchase what you have to offer.
Monitoring your posts can help you determine your strategy
Analytics and insights are important to determine what your best strategy is instead of just listening to all of the internet chatter on what you should and should not do. Your audience and followers will tell you what they want to see. Review your top times to post, your top days to post, and what types of posts your audience truly desires to see. Compare your hashtag performance, the time you posted, and the way you publicized your posts to see if a spike or dip in engagement is due to external factors, or if it is just because people liked or disliked your content.
So are you overwhelmed or encouraged that your strategy can have some strong foundational pillars but the overall can be what works best for you?
Take these tips and tricks and use what works for you. Implement them slowly at first and ease your way into it. Do not let this be another post that makes you feel like what you’re doing is not right. That is not the point at all. The strategy overall is simple: create, engage, analyze, repeat!
