Instagram Creator Profiles: Should You Switch?

On Instagram, there are three types of profile: personal, business, and creator. The first two are fairly self-explanatory, so today we are going to take a look at the Creator profile and whether or not it is beneficial for you to switch your current profile to a creator profile.


A creator account is designed to be beneficial for influencers  and creators by streamlining some processes and messaging and features to build a personal brand and more easily collaborate with sponsors. Some features are similar to those available with a business profile, though a business profile can more easily work with a third party to schedule content, for example.


Creator profiles are geared towards those who may be entrepreneurs who don't have a full business yet and are building their brand. Some examples of users who fit this category are chefs or artists who are building their following, brand, and social medial presence. Businesses or companies with an established brand an customer base will be much less likely to benefit from a creator profile.


One of the most important benefits of a creator profile is the access to detailed analytics. Analytics are imperative to growing and connecting with an audience, and this profile provides analytics to help you discover who your audience is and what they like.


Creator profiles also allow for shoppable posts via shopping tags and shops. Items can be tagged directly on a post with a link to purchase the item or the item van be listed within a shop linked on the profile of the creator.


Ready to switch? Navigate to your account settings and choose the 'switch to a professional account" option. Choose "creator" as the profile type and continue with the prompts.
