Understanding Pinterest Analytics

Your data tells a story.  Is it a story worth reading?

You can look at this data in so many ways: you can use it to fine tune your content, improve your results, and optimize your creativity.

If you have followed me for any time at all you know that I stress BIG TIME the importance of analytics, especially on Pinterest.

Why?  This is a perfect way to use what you learn to improve and even make changes (as needed) to your overall strategy.  Knowing to look at your numbers and fully understanding them are two different things.

The overview of your numbers is measuring the last seven days but that is not the end all to your analytics it is truly just the starting point.

Here are 3 action points for your analytics:

  • Pin stats

    • Click on the pin to see what the impressions of the pin, saves & clicks.

  • Pinterest analytics

    • Study your analytics to get a deeper understanding and deeper view of your Pinterest engagement

  • Pinterest Ad manager

    • Create and download customizable  ad reports and understand your campaign reports

You want to evaluate your pins. Which ones are working well? What pins are people clicking on help you to see the content that people are most interested in.  The SEO of the pin may grab people more or maybe it is the image and overall pin appearance. Use this to help you create your new content.

Then look at the people who are looking at your pins.  When you click on the “people you reach” and click “all audiences” this will show you the activity by your followers plus those who are seeing your pins in their feed.

There are so many numbers in the overall Pinterest Analytic world and honestly you can get lost in it all.  This is a great starting point for your planning, strategy and implementation of Pinterest.

You can use an organic process of posting or you can do ads either way you can increase your understanding by knowing your analytics.  This can truly change your business when you know what your target audience needs, what you can provide and how to optimize your page.

Take time to review your numbers and see what you notice.
